Air Bed

Suspended on sheets of virtually invisible glass, the Air bed seems to float in air, lending a strong feeling of lightness to the bedroom.

Available as freestanding or wall mounted versions it can be accessorized  with headboards, shelves and bedside tables, attachable anywhere along the perimeter of the frame.

The base rests on a solid legs made of extra-clear tempered glass that can be installed in two different heights.

The Air Bed, designed by Daniele Lago 2007, is a masterful study in contrasts; solidity and transparency. The Air Bed's highly appealing minimalist design arises from the combination of three simple elements. Completely unique, the supporting structures are made from four ultra-clear Starphire glass plates 0.5" thick joined to a hidden steel frame. The result is that the bed appears to float on air, imparting a feeling of extreme lightness and freedom from gravity. The glass plates may be installed vertically or horizontally depending on the preferred height of the bed.

Anchoring the design and in keeping with its pure form is a low padded headboard.

The platform accommodates standard American Queen or Eastern King innerspring or latex mattresses. There is no need for a box spring.

While the Air Bed may appear lightweight, its robust engineering ensures the bed sits solidly on the floor, so go ahead and have some fun. The Air collection also includes a modular Air Bookcase of the same floating design principles.
