Mies Bed Pony Skin

Our Mies bed is a completely new design that embodies the minimalist appeal of the International Style. Inspired by the famous Mies Van der Rohe Day Bed, this platform bed features a distinctive tufted headboard cushion covered in sophisticated natural haired cow hide. The black and white hides are hand cut into individual squares and sewn together using the capitonne technique with black leather piping over each seam. Leather covered buttons enhance the deep tufting. Lean back and enjoy the comfortable padding while reading or watching television.

The thick, rounded, solid wood frame in a walnut stain is supported by tubular chromed steel legs. Plastic inserts inside the leg tips protect floors. Flexible beechwood slats eliminate the need for a bulky box spring and allow air to circulate beneath the mattress.

The natural hide is very durable and easy to clean - just vacuum and wipe with a damp, sudsy terry cloth. The striking originality of this bed is further enhanced by the natural variation of the hides ensuring each bed is a one-of-a-kind creation.
